Luka Magnotta : Following Through
Following through...
Alot of us start out with whatever we are planning on doing with alot of enthusiasim only to loose interest half way through our goal. In my teenage years I was no different, I set alot of tasks for myself, I had alot of things I wanted to accomplish and I always would start the intended goal but never followed through. For instance, I was a skinny teenager and I was always envious of the other boys who had muscle, so I set a goal to start working out and training to gain muscle.
I would go to the gym religiously and I changed my diet to include high protien foods and would eat more. I stuck with my plan for about a month then I stopped because I got discouraged and didnt see any results. I realised that was my problem. I was not following through with what I started, and thats why I was not getting anywhere in life. I was quitting. Perhaps looking back it was a subconscious fear of failure? However I knew I needed to change my way of thinking in order to move full speed ahead in life.
I believe anything can be accomplished with perseverance and determination. I say what I mean and I do what I say. Fear of failure is not an option for me now.
In the past I hesitated and I realised that procrastination is the thief of time and would constantly be nervous of failure. Well that ideaology and thinking got me nowhere and will get you nowhere too. I now train four times a week, go jogging every morning and eat on a regularly scheduled diet. Setting bench marks really helps in suceeding in your desired goals.
I act on the goal I want quickly rather than over thinking it, instincts are valuable assets. You have to pursue what you want and make it happen, nothing comes to you. Live the dream and it will happen. When I first started in adult films I was petrafied with all the people around. The other actors, director, camera crew etc.. but I knew if I did not get enough courage enough to just do it, then I would regreat it. i was a nervous wreck the entire time but I did not let it show. I was not a professional but i sure as hell acted like it. Perception is everything. If you see yourself as being victorious then you will be. If you think your a failure then you will be. Simple. Also, otheres see you as you see yourself. If you believe you are successful and act it, then you will be preceived that way.
I don't let anyone or anything stand in my way of success. I set short term and long term personal goals for myself and I am diligent about completing them. Self discipline plays a big part in my life and I rely on it to keep me focused. Everyday there are many different obstacles and distractions that I deal with quickly and in a positive manner. I do not subject myself to negativity, there is no place for it my life. People who judge me on my past do not know me, if I did not do the things I did in my past..I would not be where I am today. Your past is a stepping stone for your future and I learned that. Everything happens for a reason and you just use every situation to your advantage.
I rely on character building skills that I have put in place to make choices that benefit my life. Having a personal code of conduct is essential in following through with everything you do. I honestly do whatever I want to do whenever I want to do it, I want to have no regretes in my life. Other people's jealousy and envy do not deture me from my own happiness. I follow through with whatever I feel is the right decision for me and I rarely listen to anyone else's advice because I have learned more often then not, their advice is in their own best interest and not mine. Follow your own path and where there is not path make one. Being a trail blazer is not easy and you might be unpopular but others will see your success eventually. The ends justify the means and I truely believe that. Dedication and determination go hand and hand to reach a desired outcome.
